but please let us know if you are in need of another! This month is also child abuse awareness month. Throughout the month we will be focusing on making donations to help organizations who help stop child abuse.
Recap: Last week’s book was The Wind Blew by, Pat Hutchins. Although there wasn’t much wind, we discussed what the wind can blow or not blow, activities to do outside when it gets windy, and what makes wind. We also had so much sunshine that we spent a lot of time outside before the rain hit at the end of the week. This is making us very eager for our new playgrounds to be done! On Thursday we had our Alphabet Family night! This was an opportunity for families to see a sneak peak of our new additions as they are almost done, and we are close to starting the inside of the old building. Our preschool friends also had a field trip on Friday to the Silvis Library where they read books, did activities, and got to play in their activity area.
This week: This week’s book is The Good Egg for Easter week. Also this week is The Week Of The Young Child. The Week of the Young Child is a week of celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. We love celebrations at IACW so this week will be the best! We will start it off with Music Monday getting our friends in the “groove” for the week. Tasty Tuesday where we will be making a yummy snack to eat at snack time. Work together Wednesday for our friends to make decorations together for their Easter parties. Artsy Thursday for the craft side to come out, and to end the week is Family Friday, where our families are welcome to join us for our classroom Easter parties at 9:30 to 11:00. On Thursday we will also be having a field trip to Illini Assisted Living for an Easter Egg Hunt!
Under construction: It seriously looks fantastic out there and in there! We are so excited for this part of the expansion to be completed as they are making the last couple fixes to it. And look at that new parking lot! I think we can all appreciate how much space there will be now. Soon our workers will be moving to the inside to start on our new kitchen, entrance, and combine the buildings! For this we will be having Hy Vee catering help with food while our kitchen is under construction.
